Artist Bio

Deborah Pellock’s interest in drawing began at a very young age as her teacher noticed a talent in her and advised her parents to get her private art lessons.  During college, she continued to study advanced drawing.  As an adult, she spent many years devoted to her family and when her children were nearly grown she was fortunate to have the opportunity of studying oil painting with Dee Beard Dean.  Dee opened up a whole new world of painting that had been lying dormant in Deborah.  Her deepest dream of painting had become a reality.  Deborah’s passion for painting became so intense she spent all her time feverishly studying on her own as Dee had told her “paint miles and miles of canvas.”   And within 3 years she was selling her work and accepted to a gallery in Charleston and a few other local galleries.  She acknowledges her training from Dee and other contemporary artists that she studied within workshops and her self education is important: however, is humble to know that the gift that is inside her came from the creator God.

When Deborah was quite new to the fine art’s profession, she received remarkable encouragement as the first time she entered a show that was juried by a professional juror from Washington D.C.  she was juried in and received an honorable mention, and over the years has received many awards at various shows and competitions.

She has also studied with portrait artists John Delavega and Burton Silverman.  Plein air painting has enhanced Deborah’s ability to better understand light, shadows, edges, and atmosphere.  Deborah enjoys painting historic architecture, figurative, landscapes, still life, and portraiture.  Her paintings can be found in many private home collections all around the country and are represented in Watkinsville, Ga and Seaside, Fl.

Presently Deborah is living in Cumming, Ga with her husband Glen as well as being involved in the lives of her three married children and seven grandchildren that live locally.
